– The Bhagavad Gita

“Yoga is the journey of the self, through the self, to the self.”

At Orchard Roots Yoga, peace is not just practiced — it’s rooted, nurtured, and discovered within.

Our Mission

A place to lay your mat out and be yourself. A home away from home and a space to breathe, move, and discover what it means to travel within. Yoga gives us the ability to step out of your day and escape to a place where we can get away for a well deserved break.

It's not about how flexible you are. It's not about how many yoga poses you can do. It's about showing up, breathing, and investing the time toward whatever it is that you need. That is truly what yoga is.

Gentle Restorative

We hold comfortable, effortless poses. These shapes open and redefine distressed body tissue and fascia that support healthy movement.  The Restorative practice creates peace in every layer of our being.

Slow Flow

This moving meditation creates strength, freedom and fluidity in the body and mind. As we ride the waves of breath in our Yoga class, we learn to ride the waves of change in our lives with greater resilience. All levels are welcome to join us in finding the state of flow!

All Levels Heated Flow

This is an All-Levels Heated Vinyasa class. Whether you are looking to try heated yoga for the first time, looking to warm up and chill out, or looking to up-level and get your sweat on, we've got you covered.

Level 2 Heated Vinyasa

All are absolutely welcome to attend this class. Whether you have done heated yoga or not, we offer levels and variations that accommodate wherever you are on any given day. However, this is a more rigorous practice that entails a lot of movement, balance, flow and up-level options.

100* Hot Yoga

Fun, toasty and challenging. We move to the beat, move to the heat and most importantly, move to our own pace.

Sunrise Yin

Awaken gently with the rising sun—stretch, release, and begin your day in balance.

Heated Vinyasa / Meditative Movement

This heated vinyasa is gentle, yet challenging because it is very intentional and creates a mental, as well as physical challenge that requires a different layer of focus.

Meet Marissa - Founder of Orchard Roots Yoga

Marisa began her yoga journey back in 2003. When she moved to Jackson Hole, WY her days consisted of back country hikes and snowboarding expeditions that were less than kind to her body.
She and her best friend, Erica found yoga at their local gym. It was great to stretch and breathe.
However over time they realized that yoga was not just about the physical aspect, the mental reward became just as valuable!
After moving to Seattle she became a member at Core Power Yoga. She started her 200 hour teacher training in 2014.
But the real truth about when yoga became Marissa's heart and soul was when she became pregnant with her twins. At 12 weeks of gestation they were told that baby B (their daughter) had zero chance of survival. She was devastated. She had weekly scheduled ultrasounds to determine whether or not “baby B” still had cardiac activity. So she would go to yoga. She figured, "at least we can do something that I love together before she goes". So, day after day… Marissa would go, flow with her hand on her belly and think about how much she loved that baby.
The baby never left! Kaya has her struggles as a special needs child. But she is a beautiful, imperative part the family and Marissa genuinely believes that Kaya is here because of the yoga practices that they shared together.
Their family now consists of Marissa's husband, Kevin, their eldest daughter, Everly, their twins, Kaya and Jameson and Marissa
She was born and raised in Port Orchard. And so very honored to bring something so profound to a community that she loves so much!
